The “DPP Builder” allows manufacturers to create their Digital Product Passport and get started in compliance with the future European DPP regulations*. An intuitive platform that collects information on a product's components, displays its carbon footprint and recycling methods. Other benefits include the opportunity for brands to create a direct communication channel with their customers, combining value-added digital services with each product.

An ultra-secure digital passport for objects using patented technologies

With the technological solution designed by enCaps, each real-world product can be assigned a digital passport and registered on either a traditional database or the Blockchain. The choice between these two platforms depends on the relevance of the specific use cases. 'Whether the object is virtual or physical, we transform its ownership rights into a secure digital “capsule”, which serves as an authentic and immutable document, especially when using the Blockchain,' explains Pascal Jardé, CEO of enCaps.

This digital passport, secure and impossible to predetermine, results in the attachment of an augmented QR code to physical objects

This code comprises a standard part and a proprietary part: 'A patented innovation of our solution is the Capstag, which secures the coupling of the holder and their product. It combines a standard QR code with a proprietary code, functioning as a double factor authentication. Even if someone cracks the QR code, they still face a one in 1.18 trillion chance of guessing the associated second code,' specifies Antoine Janning, co-founder of enCaps.

Protected by a Capstag, the information in the digital passport is accessible through any Internet-connected smartphone. A sophisticated workflow engine manages content display and tailors user experiences based on the profile of the person interacting with the digital capsules or passports of the objects.

Brands will be able to associate value-added services to the DPP!

Thanks to the Digital Product Passport, manufacturers and publishers can comply with upcoming European DPP* regulations. This is achieved by aggregating data on product components, their carbon footprint, and recycling methods.

Additionally, this technology enables brands to incorporate innovative digital services—such as logistics, delivery, ownership transfer, and more—into their products. This not only establishes a direct communication channel with users but also enhances the level of service. For instance, the technology can be used to track stolen bicycles, link a vehicle with its digital maintenance log, or securely manage second-hand transactions, among other applications. The potential use cases and markets for this technology are vast and varied."

enCaps will showcase these technological solutions at CES in Las Vegas in 2024, anticipating rapid international growth. 'Our participation at CES is a strategic move to break into the American market and create business opportunities with local stakeholders, as well as with major European accounts who attend the event to enhance their technological insights,' declares Pascal Jarde, CEO of enCaps.
